The Care and Feeding of Your New Soy Candle
Congratulations! You're now the proud owner of your very own hand-poured soy candle. Now What? Whether it's your first soy candle or your 100th, it's important to know how to take care of your candle so it will continue to emit beautiful warmth and strong frangrance for its entire life.
First and foremost, keep your candle out of direct sunlight. Because our candles are made of only natural ingredients and don't contain preservatives or stabalizers, they will keep their original, true color and perfect mix of fragrance throughout only if they are not left in the sun.
Did you know your candle has a memory? When you burn your candle for the first time, it is very important to burn it long enough to let the entire top of the candle become liquified. That way, each time you burn your candle, it will "remember" to burn out first, then down, so you won't have a "tunneling" effect. Don't forget to give your new candle a good start!
Most everyone knows to keep their wicks trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch, but do you know the best way to do it? The easiest way to trim your wick is to turn your cooled candle upside down and then clip the wick. This way, the used wick will fall out and no black pieces will be left to mar the beautiful surface of your soy candle.
